eBay
vintage stockings auctions
One of the best places
online to find vintage nylon stockings is ebay.com. There is a huge variety
and most times you can find a real bargain. I collect (and wear!) vintage
stockings myself and I tend to go for the more unusual/rare styles. These
are a few recent auctions:
This
style does not show up on ebay too often. What makes these stockings special
is that only the reinforced heel is colored (brown) while the rest of the
reinforcement (and stocking) is beige/nude in color.
Outline heel stockings seem to be a little bit more common to find. I have
seen several variations of this style on ebay. If you watch the stocking
auctions on a regular basis, you will come across many unique vintage stocking
styles.
While
I've been told that black foot vintage stockings are highly sought after,
and they may be, but I'm not totally convinced. This is one of the few
vintage styles that you can buy a modern day reproduction of at various
online stocking sites. Here is just one site (Magnolia Hosiery) that sells
Full Fashioned black
foot stockings, very similar to these (scroll down to see the style
3975 BHF).
Two things to keep
in mind when buying vintage stockings are the stocking size and length.

to help you find your vintage stocking size. And length tends to be more
of a personal preference thing. Some prefer shorter stockings, and to show
more thigh and some (gasp!) want them almost as long as their pantyline!

Joining
a Paysite
There seems to be the
mindset of some internet surfers that adult web sites (paysites in particular),
can't be trusted. And in some ways I can understand why they might feel
that way. Especially when you visit a site and get bombarded with pop-ups
or try to cancel and can't find the cancel button! But there are many webmasters/webmistresses
who run honest sites and aren't out to annoy/scam the surfer. As the caveat
goes, Buyer Beware! These are a few things to look for next time you are
thinking of joining a paysite.
Contact email -
Look for an email address to contact the webmaster should you need to.
Any website that's on the 'up and up' should have a clearly marked link
to contact the webmaster.
Cancel button -
Before you join a site, make sure you know how to cancel. Again, there
should be a clearly marked button or link showing you where/how to cancel
should you wish to. Some webmasters put the link/button on the same page
as the join button and others have a separate link for it. One of the tricks
some webmasters have used (which I don't think many do this anymore, but
I don't know for sure), was to make the cancel button hard to find. I think
the idea behind that was to pretty much 'force' the Member to keep getting
rebilled, when in reality all it did was tick them off!
Updates page
- Look for an updates page that shows you how often (with dates!!) the
site has been and is updated.
Nudity -
I decided to add this one to the list because of the the assumption that
"all the good pics are in the Members area" (replace 'good' with
'explicit'). In some cases models might reserve more revealing pics just
for their Members area, but don't assume! If you are hoping to see a model
do hard-core and then are disappointed, that is not the models fault. If
you really want to know what level of nudity you will find in the Members
area, email the web model or webmaster.
I think that pretty much
covers the basics of what to look for when joining a pay site. The
only thing I can add is to never assume anything when joining adult web
site. The free area of the web site should give you a pretty good idea
of what you'll find in the Members area and if you ever have a question,
just drop the webmaster or web model a email. If they want you as a Member
I'm sure they will happily respond! :)

These are some vintage
slip advertisements, which I am guessing are from the 1950's and 1960's.
Slips, whether full slips or half slips, are rarely seen anymore these
days. Granted a slip is an undergarment that was never meant to be seen,
sometimes a lucky viewer might catch a glimpse of lace peeking out from
under a ladies skirt hem.
Whatever happened to
slips? I believe they were still featured in lingerie catalogs (such as
Frederick's of Hollywood and Victoria's Secret), until about the mid-late
80's and then they seemed to have disappeared. Department store lingerie
departments sometimes carry a few styles of slips, but they are usually
only available in white, black or beige and with very little, if any lace
at all on them. Nothing compared to the beautiful array of slips that were
made back in the 1950's & 60's.
Even on the internet,
it's hard to find sites devoted just to slips. There are a few out there,
but no where as many as there are stocking sites. And it's rare to see
most internet models wear a genuine slip (as opposed to just a nightie
or chemise with lace on it). Perhaps one day the whims of fashion will
change and slips will once again become a popular undergarment!

Jen has been modeling
slips on the internet for years. She started out modeling slips for Slip
Heaven and in 2005 decided to start her own web site called: Slip
